At Ricoh, we’re strong believers in giving back to society. On a company level, we love working with charities such as the United Way & Canadian Blood Services – our annual campaigns with both of these organisations are always popular amongst our employees. However, we also encourage our offices to seek out fun ways to give back all year ‘round. This emphasis on getting involved with charity throughout the year reminds us that giving back is an important habit to get into & an important part of the Ricoh way of life.

Recently, Ricoh Had the Opportunity to Get Involved with Two Exciting Initiatives

Heart & Stroke Big Bike Ride

This spring, Ricoh continued our tradition of participating in the Heart & Stroke Big Bike Ride. This has always been a great way for Ricoh employees to get involved in an important cause while having fun at the same time. This year, several offices throughout the country were able to get outside for the day & raise money for heart disease & stroke research.

The Heart & Stroke Big Bike Ride is an event where teams come together to ride a 30-person bike through the streets to spread awareness for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Teams raise money from friends & family to support their ride & get to take a heart-healthy break from their regular workday to support a great cause.

Our Ricoh teams had a blast once again this year, and are looking forward to next year’s ride!

Plaid for Dad

Sometimes fundraising events can be as simple as wearing a plaid shirt to work. This is the thinking behind the Plaid for Dad campaign – a fundraising & awareness campaign for Prostate Cancer Canada. This summer, Ricoh employees in offices across Canada came to work wearing their best plaid shirts to show their support for the charity.

Plaid for Dad was started in 2015 to raise awareness & research funding for prostate cancer – a disease which will affect 1 in 7 men in their lifetime. The Friday before Father’s Day is designated as Plaid for Dad Day, where supporters are encouraged to wear plaid to show their support for the cause.

The above photo is just a selection of the many Ricoh employees who came together to raise awareness for this important initiative. We can’t wait until next year!

Ricoh never stops looking for ways to give back, and we always remember the importance of helping our neighbours.
