Ricoh eDiscovery is proud to announce we’ve opened a forensics lab in Toronto. Ricoh eDiscovery can now collect cell phones, tablets, laptops, computers, servers, webmail, etc. locally within Canada. The services can be performed in our secure lab, or remotely so you can keep your device(s) where they are, and still get the data forensically collected, along with the option for on-site collections. When determining whether on-site, in-house lab, or remote collections suit your needs, it is best to discuss this with a member of our team as it would be dependent on the need and nature of the matter.
Every matter is different, as such, our team of experts handles each matter with care and as part of our workflow, we discuss the needs and tailor the solution that best fits the matters needs. Additional Collections services can also entail the extraction of deleted items, though it requires a full physical collection (meaning collecting the entire drive, including all empty space). If you’re interested in extracting deleted items, please ensure you power down the device as soon as possible, and don’t use it until the collection is complete. The empty spaces on the drive where deleted items may exist could get overwritten at any point, since both Windows and MacOS constantly read and write files to the main drive, and any of those writes could end up overwriting a deleted file you may have wanted to collect.
With collections now being done locally within Canada, it allows us to bypass the uncertainty in timelines during the shipping stage as we will no longer need to ship the devices to the US. While we still work closely with our Ricoh US counterparts and leverage their skillset, especially for devices that are already located within the US, we feel that this allows us to fulfill the needs of our clients in a more meaningful manner.
Ricoh eDiscovery has experts in every section of the EDRM model and can provide services and/or consultation on any or all your litigation and litigation preparedness needs. Your data can move easily and seamlessly from collection all the way through to production, including Review services. Our internal teams work closely together to ensure that the entire eDiscovery project is set up for success as key members of the project continue to communicate and have a better understanding of the background and needs of the project itself.
