Rendez-vous d’orientation sans stress

For many students, school can be very stressful. Especially for shy or socially anxious students; having to go to the guidance counselor can add stress. Even worse, in some schools there is a loudspeaker announcement when a student makes an appointment with a counselor. These systems can be problematic for many reasons:

• Students may have difficult problems, such as abuse at home or harassment, and because they are anxious, it is difficult to talk to a counselor.
• Students can refrain from submitting the required forms due to their anxiety. This complicates things for teachers, administrators and parents.
• Due to unsent or lost forms, students may miss opportunities such as travel, eliminating the chance to interact with their counterparts in a healthy environment and socialize with other students.
• Students may have learning or health problems, but they are too shy to share this information with the school. This can lead to dangerous consequences for the student as well as legal consequences for the school.
• At the highest levels, students may need to speak to a counselor to be able to change classes. A student who suffers from anxiety may desperately want to be in another class, but will not make an appointment with a counselor because of peer pressure. The choice of courses that high school students make determines in which program they will be eligible to enter graduate schools. It is unfortunate that because of the design of the system, students are not able to pursue their dreams.

Ricoh knows this is a very serious problem and we want to make sure that all students from the shyest to the most extroverted introvert have equal access to student resources. We have developed an advanced system in which this is possible.

• Our Enterprise Content Management System (ECM) stores all the information, including biographical data, notes and forms related to the student. This information is available to the student and their parents through a secure web portal.

• Le système permet aussi de configurer des formulaires communs, afin que les étudiants ou les parents puissent facilement entrer l’information concernant les problèmes sensibles (problèmes liés à la santé), tout en maintenant la confidentialité grâce à l’accès aux informations réservées aux intervenants pertinents que l’école juge nécessaires.
• Le choix de cours peut être rendu numérique de sorte que les étudiants puissent poursuivre les cours qu’ils veulent, sans stress ou peur des répercussion
